In the period March-August 2022, NIKIEMA CONSULTS B.V. was assigned to help the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Niger to design through the Nexus Skills/Jobs program, the Netherlands aims to help create access to relevant vocational training, especially for girls.
The Netherlands wants to tackle the root causes of instability by investing in areas where it brings real added value. To improve the living conditions and socio-economic prospects of people in the Sahel region, Dutch efforts aim, among other things, to increase agricultural productivity, income generation, job creation and the integrated development of agricultural chains.
One of the areas of intervention identified by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Niger to contribute to the achievement of these results is the sustainable capacity building of trainers in Agricultural and Rural Training (ART).
Taking into account the comparative advantages of the Netherlands in the development of the agricultural sector and TVET in general and in the area of strengthening ART in particular, Dutch support will be focused on strengthening training ART trainers at the level of middle technical and vocational education and training. It will contribute to improving the capacities of trainers in technical and vocational education and training establishments leading to the Diploma of Professional Studies (BEP) and the diplomas of Professional Baccalaureate and Technical or Technological Baccalaureate (BAC Pro).
Four major activities were implemented by NIKIEMA CONSULTS in accordance with the four phases of the assignment. In the below table are detailed the phases, the activities and the period of execution.
